How we can help

Therapeutic Support: Trained professionals may provide a safe and empathetic environment for individuals to express their feelings and experiences. Through therapeutic conversations, they can help clients explore the underlying causes of their depression and work towards developing coping strategies.

Counseling and Psychotherapy: Therapists often use evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or psychodynamic therapy to address depressive symptoms. These therapeutic modalities can assist individuals in changing negative thought patterns and behaviors associated with depression.

Medication Management: In some cases, mental health professionals at Hear to Heal might collaborate with psychiatrists to assess whether medication is a suitable option. Medications, such as antidepressants, can be prescribed to help alleviate symptoms of depression.

Goal Setting and Behavior Modification: Hear to Heal may work with individuals to set realistic goals and encourage positive behavioral changes. Breaking down large tasks into smaller, manageable steps can be particularly helpful for those experiencing depression.

Building a Support System: Establishing a strong support system is crucial in managing depression. Hear to Heal may assist individuals in identifying and strengthening their social support networks, fostering connections with friends, family, or support groups.

Education and Self-Help Strategies: Providing information about depression, its symptoms, and effective self-help strategies can empower individuals to actively manage their condition. This may include promoting lifestyle changes, stress management techniques, and healthy coping mechanisms.

Trauma Psychotherapy

Trauma faced during your childhood can have long lasting impacts. Whether you experienced psychological abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, physical abuse, neglect, sexual assault (historical and present), domestic violence, witnessed a catastrophic event (i.e. a violent accident). The individual often manifests symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), or in some circumstances where trauma is long standing and chronic, Complex-PTSD. Survivors of trauma need a safe holding environment whereby they can feel psychologically safe to explore their trauma and release it. As a trauma-informed-therapist my goal is to utilize interventions which address how trauma is “held” in the body using Trauma-Informed-Psychotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Inner family systems therapy, and elements of Somatic Experiencing.
