How we can help

As a therapist with a niche in providing comprehensive mental health support, I specialize in utilizing a diverse range of therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique needs of my clients. Here are some key approaches that define my practice:

Somatic Experiencing Therapy: Somatic Experiencing Therapy focuses on the connection between the mind and body, addressing the impact of trauma on the nervous system. By exploring physical sensations and bodily experiences, this therapy helps individuals release pent-up tension and process traumatic events in a more holistic way.

Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy: Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy recognizes the pervasive impact of trauma on an individual's well-being. It involves creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore and understand the effects of trauma on their lives. This approach emphasizes empowerment, collaboration, and a thorough understanding of the complexities of trauma.

Internal Family Systems Therapy: Internal Family Systems Therapy explores the different facets of an individual's personality, treating them as distinct "parts." By understanding and integrating these parts, clients can achieve a greater sense of self-awareness and harmony. This approach is particularly effective in addressing internal conflicts and fostering internal balance.

Attachment Therapy: Attachment Therapy focuses on understanding and improving the quality of interpersonal relationships, especially those developed early in life. By exploring attachment patterns, individuals can gain insight into their relational dynamics and work towards building healthier connections.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is a widely used approach that examines the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns, promoting healthier behaviors and emotional well-being.

Cognitive Processing Therapy: Cognitive Processing Therapy is specifically designed to address the effects of trauma, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It involves identifying and challenging distorted thought patterns related to the traumatic event, promoting cognitive restructuring and emotional healing.

By offering this diverse range of therapeutic modalities, I aim to provide clients with a tailored and holistic approach to mental health. Whether individuals are seeking trauma-informed care, assistance with attachment issues, or cognitive restructuring, I strive to collaborate with them in selecting the therapeutic approach that aligns with their unique needs and goals.

Trauma Psychotherapy

Trauma faced during your childhood can have long lasting impacts. Whether you experienced psychological abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, physical abuse, neglect, sexual assault (historical and present), domestic violence, witnessed a catastrophic event (i.e. a violent accident). The individual often manifests symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), or in some circumstances where trauma is long standing and chronic, Complex-PTSD. Survivors of trauma need a safe holding environment whereby they can feel psychologically safe to explore their trauma and release it. As a trauma-informed-therapist my goal is to utilize interventions which address how trauma is “held” in the body using Trauma-Informed-Psychotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Inner family systems therapy, and elements of Somatic Experiencing.
