Self-Esteem/Confidence

How we can help

Individual Counseling Sessions: Trained professionals at Hear to Heal may conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to explore the underlying factors contributing to low self-esteem. Through therapeutic conversations, individuals can gain insights into their thoughts and behaviors and work towards building a more positive self-image.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Therapeutic approaches like CBT can be effective in addressing negative thought patterns. Professionals may work with individuals to identify and challenge self-limiting beliefs, replacing them with more realistic and positive perspectives.

Goal Setting and Achievement: Collaborating with individuals to set realistic and achievable goals can be a key component. Breaking down larger objectives into smaller, manageable steps and celebrating accomplishments can contribute to a sense of competence and confidence.

Positive Affirmations: Practicing positive self-talk and affirmations is a technique that may be encouraged. Professionals may guide individuals in developing and using affirmations to foster a more positive mindset.

Skill Development: Building new skills and competencies can significantly impact self-esteem. Hear to Heal may provide resources and support for individuals to acquire new skills, fostering a sense of mastery and achievement.

Emotional Support: The therapeutic relationship itself can serve as a source of emotional support. Having a non-judgmental and empathetic professional to talk to can help individuals process their emotions and challenges, fostering a sense of validation and understanding.

Behavioral Techniques: Professionals may introduce behavioral techniques to encourage positive changes in behavior, reinforcing actions that contribute to increased self-esteem and confidence.

Group Support: If appropriate, group therapy or support groups facilitated by Hear to Heal can provide individuals with opportunities to share experiences, receive feedback, and gain a sense of connection with others facing similar challenges.

Empowerment and Self-Discovery: Professionals may guide individuals on a journey of self-discovery, helping them recognize their strengths, values, and unique qualities. This process can empower individuals to appreciate their worth and capabilities.

Holistic Approaches: A holistic approach to mental well-being may involve addressing various aspects of life, including physical health, relationships, and lifestyle choices. Professionals at Hear to Heal will offer guidance on adopting a holistic perspective to enhance overall self-esteem.

Trauma Psychotherapy

Trauma faced during your childhood can have long lasting impacts. Whether you experienced psychological abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, physical abuse, neglect, sexual assault (historical and present), domestic violence, witnessed a catastrophic event (i.e. a violent accident). The individual often manifests symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), or in some circumstances where trauma is long standing and chronic, Complex-PTSD. Survivors of trauma need a safe holding environment whereby they can feel psychologically safe to explore their trauma and release it. As a trauma-informed-therapist my goal is to utilize interventions which address how trauma is “held” in the body using Trauma-Informed-Psychotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Inner family systems therapy, and elements of Somatic Experiencing.
