How we can help

As an M.A., Registered Psychotherapist, and Certified Canadian Counsellor (C.C.C.), I am well-prepared to provide crucial support to individuals facing the distressing experience of bullying. I understand that bullying can have profound and lasting effects on one's mental and emotional well-being. Creating a safe and confidential space, I encourage individuals to share their experiences, thoughts, and emotions related to the bullying situation. Through active listening and empathy, I help clients process the impact of the bullying, fostering a sense of validation and understanding.

I employ evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address the psychological and emotional repercussions of bullying. Cognitive-behavioral techniques may be utilized to help individuals challenge negative thought patterns, build resilience, and develop coping strategies. Additionally, I collaborate with clients to explore assertiveness skills and effective communication strategies, empowering them to navigate and respond to bullying situations assertively.

Beyond individual counseling, I may also work with individuals to develop a support network, including family, friends, and school or workplace resources. By offering practical guidance and emotional support, I assist individuals in building resilience and coping mechanisms to navigate the challenges posed by bullying. My comprehensive approach aims not only to alleviate the immediate distress caused by bullying but also to empower individuals with the tools and skills necessary to address and overcome these challenging situations.

Trauma Psychotherapy

Trauma faced during your childhood can have long lasting impacts. Whether you experienced psychological abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, physical abuse, neglect, sexual assault (historical and present), domestic violence, witnessed a catastrophic event (i.e. a violent accident). The individual often manifests symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), or in some circumstances where trauma is long standing and chronic, Complex-PTSD. Survivors of trauma need a safe holding environment whereby they can feel psychologically safe to explore their trauma and release it. As a trauma-informed-therapist my goal is to utilize interventions which address how trauma is “held” in the body using Trauma-Informed-Psychotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Inner family systems therapy, and elements of Somatic Experiencing.
