                                  Family Services Therapy
- Supporting Teens, adult child, and Families Through Trauma

At Hear to Heal Counselling Services, we provide compassionate, specialized care for teens, adult child, and families impacted by trauma and sexual abuse. Our work is grounded in safety, trust, and healing—helping individuals and families navigate some of the most difficult experiences with dignity and support.

Our Areas of Specialization

Trauma & Sexual Assault Therapy

We offer Trauma-Focused Therapy tailored to adolescents and adult child who have experienced interpersonal trauma (sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, witnessing domestic violence, bullying, and acts of war).

Our approach prioritizes:

  •  Emotional safety and stabilization

  • Age-appropriate processing of traumatic experiences

  • Building coping skills and resilience

  • Restoring a sense of control and self-worth

We understand that trauma affects each individual differently. Therapy is adapted to meet developmental needs, whether through talk therapy, or creative expression.

Caregiver Support Program

When a teen or adult experiences abuse, caregivers are deeply impacted as well. Many parents and guardians struggle with feelings of guilt, anger, confusion, and helplessness. Our caregiver support program is designed to help you:

  • Understand trauma and its effects on your teen/adult child

  • Learn how to respond in supportive and healing ways

  • Navigate your own emotional responses

  • Rebuild trust and connection within the family

  • Feel more confident in supporting your teens/adult child recovery

You don’t have to navigate this alone. Supporting you is a crucial part of supporting your child.

Our Approach

We take a holistic, family-centered approach to healing. This means:

  • Creating a safe, non-judgmental space for both teens/adult child and caregivers

  • Collaborating with families at every step

  • Using evidence-based trauma therapies

  • Moving at a pace that feels safe and manageable

Healing is not rushed. It is built through consistency, trust, and care.

Who We Support

  • Teens starting 14+ and young adults who have experienced sexual abuse or trauma

  • Parents and caregivers seeking guidance and support

  • Families working to rebuild connection after trauma and reduce tension in the household

We are Nave and Monika, Registered Psychotherapists, with a shared passion for supporting children, teens, and families impacted by trauma and interpersonal violence. For the past four years, we worked together at Cedar Centre (formerly York Region Abuse Program) as Child, Youth, and Family Therapists, where we provided specialized care to individuals and families navigating some of life’s most painful experiences.

Together, we bring extensive experience supporting clients affected by:
